We Wish You a Merry Christmas

Paul, George and I spent Christmas Eve with my parents in Pottsville. George delighted my parents and brother with his Italian grandmother's 'bird's nest' for breakfast on Christmas Eve morning. We spent the day relaxing, playing games on our iPads, eating, drinking, and opening gifts.  It was a quiet day spent with family.

Just like we did for Thanksgiving, we had Christmas Day dinner at Calvary Homes with Pap pap.  Unfortunately, I think his dementia is getting worse. The mischievous gleam that was ever present in his eyes for as long as I can remember, has diminished and in its place, is a blank stare that makes me sad beyond words.  I miss him terribly and yet, he is still here, sitting with us at dinner. I guess this is what they call the 'long good-bye'...

George cleaning up the breakfast dishes....what a good guy! :-)
George and Paul...concentration is key...!
Slow and steady wins the race...
Our stockings for over 30 years!
My turn to play!

Being silly!

Let's Rock 'n Roll...this time in Miami...!

After their exhilarating run in the Philly Rock 'n Roll Half Marathon, Camilla, Brenda, Michelle and Rob signed up to run the half in Miami. The girls and I decided we just "had" to come along to cheer them on! The fact that the race was in December in Miami was just a fortunate circumstance :-) Unfortunately, due to work obligations, Brenda wasn't able to join us (damn AT&T!). We missed her.

As expected, the weather was warm and for most of the time, it was sunny. We had plenty of pool time and definitely took advantage of the pool side bar and food service!

Camilla's race was tough....Miami is a hard place to run because of the humidity, but she pulled through and completed the race!  Because the race ended in South Beach, I was able to visit (at least for a short while) with my friends, Scott and Jim, and their little Yorkie, Sophie!
